How Mangosteen manages energy, water and materials
We're a small, family-run resort in Phuket. Our practical measures include on-site solar power, treated wastewater for garden irrigation, refillable water bottles and separation of recyclable materials.
What we do at Mangosteen Phuket
Our 113 kW photovoltaic installation supplies electricity directly to the resort during daylight hours. The solar roof also shades the car park, where two charging stations serve electric vehicles.
Our water comes from two deep wells and is filtered for your safety and convenience.
Wastewater is treated in our six-tank plant and reused to irrigate the resort gardens. Treated wastewater is not discharged into the sea.
We separate paper, glass, metal and selected plastics for collection by recycling providers. For selected single-use items, we use locally made starch-based alternatives to conventional plastic.
Villas feature copper or glass water bottles, with a complimentary filtered refill station at reception.
We use LED lighting, inverter air conditioning and smart timers to manage electricity use.
